She was born in Plymouth and graduated with a DipAD from Winchester School of Art in 1969.
It includes the momentous Coldstream and Summerson reports, the introduction of the DipAD, the establishment of Polytechnics, their absorption of art colleges and their subsequent transformation into universities, and the transmutation of diploma to degree courses.
After a short life during which academic rigour could be demonstrated, the DipAD was replaced by a BA degree.
He has studied at UBC, the Vancouver School of Art (DipAD), Regent College, Sheffield Polytechnic Art College, with further research done in London at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Tate Gallery.
