Chancroid, also known as soft chancre or soft sore, is caused by a bacterium.
In January a marked improvement in the results of treatment of soft sore was brought about by daily examinations and frequent changes in the antiseptics used.
A good rule to follow is to remember that every soft sore or chancroid may conceal a chancre and be on the look out.
